About the Data: OECD — DAC Donors
Members of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) report their official development assistance, including humanitarian aid, to the Creditor Reporting System. The publicly-available database includes DAC members’ bilateral overseas development assistance, specifically activities undertaken directly between a donor and recipient (or executed by a national or international non-governmental organization active in development on behalf of the donor) and promotion of development awareness and other development-related spending in the donor country (e.g., debt reorganization, administrative costs).
DAC donors’ contributions to the regular budgets of multilateral institutions are excluded when counting bilateral aid. While non-DAC government donors and multilateral organizations also report their development and humanitarian aid contributions to the OECD DAC, for these donors we used data from UN OCHA’s Financial Tracking Service. Data for this project were collected based on project descriptions and CRS codes for humanitarian aid.
Funding by region reflects disbursements that were directed to specific countries.
