This report provides a comprehensive account of the time and resources that tribes are devoting to meet federal reporting requirements. Several federal programs that fund tribes carry extensive requirements to report data on the activities they support which accounts for the major portion of tribal data capacity. Hence, most tribes, instead of collecting and maintening data at their own initiative for their own purposes, primarily focus on collecting data for reporting requirements for federal agencies.
