OKLAHOMA - Quapaw Nation has received a 40-thousand dollar grant to help combat local food insecurity
The grant money will fund a new farmer's market inside Quapaw's mercantile building along Route 66.
First Nations Development Institute awarded the tribe the money they received from a recent settlement.
A food sovereignty assessment was taken not long ago in Quapaw, and 90 percent of participants were in favor of a Famer's Market in the community
