Grant money will soon help local schools provide additional education opportunities for students and teachers.
The McAlester Public Schools Board of Education approved a contract with the Oklahoma State Dept. of Education for a Native Youth Community Project grant.
The contract approved Monday states the OSDE will pay McAlester Public Schools $54,400 payable in arrears. The agreement ends Sept. 29, 2019, with four additional one-year renewal options.
