Legislation allocates $120 million for housing in CN

TAHLEQUAH – In a reauthorization of the Housing, Jobs and Sustainable Communities Act approved in 2019 by the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council, Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. on March 31 put his signature on a $120 million expansion of affordable housing and home improvements for CN citizens.
The reauthorization includes $60 million for the building of new homes, which will meet the applicant demand more quickly. A further $30 million is allocated to home rehabilitation, emergency rehabilitation...
