Institute of American Indian Arts receives planning grant

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) - A new grant is giving a major financial boost to the Institute of American Indian Arts.
According to The Albuquerque Journal, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation gave a three-year planning grant worth more than $430,000 to the institute to make a new research center.
Officials say the center will focus on advancing contemporary Native American art as well as supporting training through internships and fellowships.
