The following is a joint statement recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October from NIWRC, Strong Hearts Native Helpline, the Alaska Native Women’s Resource Center, the National Congress of American Indians, the Indian Law Resource Center, and the Friends Committee on National Legislation:
Today marks the first day of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which offers a critical opportunity to continue to shed light on the issue of domestic violence. The number of survivors is devast
