Five Minnesota Tribes Awarded Nearly $4.656 Million In Federal Funding to Improve Public Safety

The Department of Justice announced that it has awarded more than $273.4 million dollars in grants to improve public safety in American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
According to United States Attorney Erica MacDonald, the funds will be used to serve victims of crime, combat violence against women and support youth programs.
The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe will receive more than $810,000. The Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians will receive more than $1.54 million dollars, and the White Eart
