The City of Sault Ste. Marie has signed a historic declaration of mutual commitment and friendship resolution designed as a local response to the Truth and Reconciliation report.
A special council meeting was held Monday to pass the lengthy declaration, an agreement between the municipality and the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres.
It was passed by council unanimously.
