Jarboe's “War” (California)
Led by Walter Jarboe, a group of White settlers known as the “Eel River Rangers” commit countless atrocities and massacres of Native women, children, and men, killing at least 283 Indians over 23 separate attacks in just six months. They received money by the U.S. government for their murderous Indian hunting campaign (“List of Indian massacres”).
