Calusa chief outwits and kills Ponce de Leon

A Calusa chief tricks Ponce de Leon into building a settlement, only to attack it with a huge force of Calusa warriors. Ponce de Leon is shot with a poison arrow and retreats to Cuba, where he dies of his injury (Nies, 1996).
