David Wilson, Navajo, was named the first director of the Tribal Health Research Office at the National Institute of Health in 2017. He leads health research about Native people, and has a current research budget of $130 million. Wilson has collaborated with top experts, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, to ensure Native communities are including in pandemic research.
