Pomo Massacre (California)

Two American ranchers with reputations for being abusive are attacked and killed by five Pomo men for their abuses. In retaliation, U.S. soldiers eradicate an entire village of 130 Pomo men, women, and children who were fishing at a nearby lake (“List of Indian massacres”).
