NCCC receives state grant to preserve rare maps and books

A state conservation and preservation grant will allow the Niagara County Community College library to better preserve old maps of the county and a collection of rare books on Tuscarora Indian history.
The $8,482 grant to the Henrietta G. Lewis Library, announced Tuesday, will enable the library to buy flat storage cases with acid-free paper, making a collection of old maps easier and safer to access. The maps, currently rolled up, include maps of Niagara and Orleans counties dating back to 1860
